Integrative Therapist in Bristol Counselling for Anxiety, stress & ADHD
Counselling shaped around your goals, your choices and your needs
Hi, I'm Kayleigh
I'm an integrative therapist based in Bristol, working with adults and young people aged 11 and over — in person at The Treatment Rooms on Park Row, and online throughout the week.
I work with people dealing with anxiety, stress, burnout, low confidence, ADHD, and more. Some people come knowing exactly what they want to work on. Others arrive with a general sense that something isn't right and aren't sure where to start. Both are completely fine.
Our sessions are shaped around you — your needs, your preferences, your goals. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, always in collaboration with you, and we review regularly to make sure what we're doing is actually working. If something isn't helping, we change it.
Alongside my private practice, I also work in partnership with schools in Bristol, providing specialist counselling for pupils in AP, SEND and SEMH settings. If you're a school leader, you can find out more on the School Counselling page.
My Approach
Being integrative means I don't work from a single model. I draw on a range of therapies where it's appropriate and always in collaboration with you. Some of my core ways of working include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT looks at the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. If you find yourself stuck in patterns — overthinking, self-criticism, avoidance — CBT offers practical tools to start shifting them.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is about changing your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings rather than trying to eliminate them. It helps you move toward what matters to you, even when anxiety or self-doubt are in the room.
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT is particularly useful if your inner critic is loud or if shame is part of what you're carrying. It builds self-compassion as a real, practical skill — not just something people say you should have.
I always work from person-centred and pluralistic principles — your choices stay central throughout.
My Background
My experience as a therapist working within charities and schools has given me a broad understanding of the diverse challenges faced by individuals of all ages. I have extensive experience supporting young people and young adults with a range of SEND and SEMH needs, including Autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, and Oppositional Defiance Disorder.
I utilise a variety of therapeutic modalities to best suit your needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centred Therapy.
Drawing on both talking and creative therapeutic approaches, I tailor sessions to each individual's needs and welcome a collaborative approach with clients. This ensures that therapy is both accessible and effective.

Working with schools
Alongside my private practice, I work in partnership with schools and educational settings to provide ethical, reliable and pupil-centred counselling support.
I specialise in building therapeutic relationships with young people in Alternative Provision and SEND schools, where trust, consistency and understanding are especially important. Having spent over ten years working inside these settings before training as a therapist, I understand the realities of school life — and I don't need hand-holding to navigate them.
I work collaboratively with headteachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and safeguarding leads, with clear communication and consistency of care at the centre of everything.
IF YOU'RE A SCHOOL LEADER LOOKING FOR:
→ A BACP-registered counsellor with specialist SEND and AP experience
→ A practitioner who integrates with your team rather than adding to your workload
→ Full safeguarding compliance including CPOMS and MyConcern familiarity
→ Clear, regular communication with your DSL and SENCO
